They answered the call for help in the aftermath of Hurricane Isaac. Tuesday, workers with Clark Energy returned to Kentucky after helping restore power in the Baton Rouge area.

Crews from Clark Energy spent almost a week in Louisiana, helping repair downed power lines from Hurricane Isaac. They just arrived back home. Four Clark Energy lineman took three trucks down with them to Louisiana to help with hurricane clean-up. They spent close to a week restoring power to homes outside of Baton Rouge. CEO Paul Embs says they worked with a power co-op in Louisiana, replacing poles and restringing wires to get power back into homes there.

"The biggest obstacle there was the heat and the rain. Seems like it would rain a lot and then when the rain would stop, then the humidity would pick up and there just wasn't any relief from the weather. But it was just a great time to be able to go down there and help out and just do our part in trying to get some peoples' lives back together," explained Clark Energy lineman Barney Toy.

It's hard to estimate just how many people crews from Kentucky were able to help, but Clark Energy estimates 56,000 people were without power last week when crews went down. They're told they all have power restored now.

All together, 18 electrical trucks from across the Commonwealth drove down to Louisiana to help with Hurricane Isaac clean-up.
