They're caught in the act on cameras. One man distracts an employee at Dan's Discount in Winchester, while his friend then steals thousands of dollars worth of gold necklaces, and you can clearly see them committing the crimes. Now a reward is being offered in this case.
They walk up to the counter at Dan's Discount pretending to be customers, but authorities say the two men didn't plan on paying for what they wanted.
"One of the male subjects acted as a lookout and as a decoy or distraction for the employees while the other male subject reached into a jewelry case and removed $2,500 dollars worth of gold necklaces," says Detective Brian Caudill.
They're caught on tape committing the crime. A man distracts the employee at the back of the store while his friend shops around. Moments later, he walks off and behind a counter using a pole to open it, then stealing the display case of gold necklaces. That's when the two men leave the store.
"The suspects left the store together and got into a vehicle which appears to be a late model Chevy S-10 pickup truck with ladder racks in the bed of the truck," says Detective Brian Caudill.
Authorities are hoping you can tell them who these two men are.
"One of the subjects is a white male about 5'8", 5'9", medium build, with short dark hair. The second suspect appears to be about 6'0", heavy build and has a neatly trimmed goatee," says Detective Caudill.
