A news conference scheduled for Tuesday morning may finally give us some answers about why a young mother and her baby were killed.

The day after police found 23-year-old Korrey Stanton and her baby girl Kaydence Ray Miers, both stabbed to death in their home, loved ones were left shocked. Stanton's longtime friend Sarah Sutton says mother and daughter were inseparable. "Oh, she was a great mom," Sutton said, "loved her daughter more than anything. She'd do everything with her daughter. You'd see her walking in the court and just having a good old time and having a mommy-daughter day. Every day it was mommy-daughter day."

So much remains unknown to many of those close to the victims. Investigators planned a news conference for Tuesday morning and announced no new updates would be released until then. The victims' mother and grandmother, Lily Stanton, also suffered serious injuries, but hospital officials have not released any information about her condition since police say she went into surgery Sunday. While neighborhood speculation initially focused on Lily Stanton, investigators urged the public not to jump to conclusions.

On Sunday night, when asked if Lily Stanton was the suspect, Winchester Police Captain James Hall responded, "We're not labeling her a suspect -- anybody a suspect at this time."

Asked if Lily Stanton's injuries were self-inflicted, Hall replied, "I can't say that either."

When asked if police were confident they knew who committed the crimes, Hall answered, "Not at this time. We have individuals that we want to talk to though."

Funeral arrangements for 22-month-old Kaydence Miers have been set. Her visitation will be Wednesday night from six until eight at Scobee Funeral Home in Winchester. Her funeral will be held in Oklahoma.
