A grandmother now faces charges for the deaths of her daughter and toddler granddaughter.
Lillie Stanton, 48, is charged with two counts of murder. Winchester Police charged her late Monday afternoon. They say she admitted to the murders during an interview at UK Hospital.
23-Year-old Danel "Korrey" Stanton and 23-month-old Kaydence Miers were stabbed to death in a home on Vaught Road in Winchester. Lille Stanton was also found at the home with self-inflicted injuries.
Police say, Robert Stanton, Lillie's ex-husband and Korrey's father returned to the home Sunday afternoon, when Lillie told him what happened. That's when Robert called 911, police arrived minutes later.
The Clark County coroner said today, Kaydence's official cause of death was "cutting to the neck" and while initial reports said Korrey was suffering from stab wounds, her official cause of death has not been released.
Lillie Stanton is currently in the hospital and listed in serious condition. She is under 24-hour guard by Winchester Police.
Visitation for both victims will be tomorrow from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Scobee Funeral home in Winchester. Korrey Stanton's funeral will be private, Kaydence Miers will be buried in Oklahoma, where her father is from.
