CLARK COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT)- New charges have been filed against a state inmate who escaped custody in Clark County.
The Clark County sheriff's office says 37-year old Fabian Valentine overpowered a corrections officer last week at the rest area along I-64, took his gun, and then stole a couple's SUV. He was being transported from Louisville back to a prison in Morgan County when the escape happened.
State Police recaptured Valentine about an hour later after a high speed chase ended in a crash.
Valentine now faces several charges in Clark County, including assault of a police officer, wanton endangerment, robbery and escape.
