Although no one hit the $67 million Powerball jackpot Wednesday night there was a ticket worth $1,000,000 sold in Kentucky.
The $1 million ticket matched all five numbers but not the Powerball in Wednesday night’s drawing. The lucky ticket holder also chose to play the Power Play feature. The second prize would normally pay $200,000 but by selecting Power Play, the prize is an automatic win of $1 million.
The winning ticket was sold at South Main Grocery on South Main in Winchester. Thursday morning, Betty Hatler came to the market to learn she had the winning ticket. He goes to the market everyday to buy a ticket but says she never thought she'd win.
Hatler is a mother of four, grandmother of seven and has been married to her husband for more than 60 years. She says she might do some improvements and updates on their home, but her most important priority was taking care of her children.
The Hatlers have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. Thursday they met with an account to plan their next move.
No one won the main jackpot on Wednesday's drawing, so Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is an estimated $82 million with a cash option amount of $41.4 million.
