The state has agreed to offer $10.25 million in tax incentives for a customer support center for Amazon.com that would bring 550 full-time jobs to Winchester.
The Winchester Sun reported the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority also Thursday approved a $250,000 economic development grant for the project.
Winchester-Clark County Industrial Authority Executive Director Todd Denham says jobs at the $20 million center would pay an average hourly rate of $20.33 with benefits. The company would also have to create 600 part-time and seasonal jobs to qualify for the full incentive.
Denham said approval of the incentives doesn't mean the deal is complete. He said he hoped to have an announcement soon.
