Woman stabbed, runs to neighbor's home for help

Her neighbor says she showed up badly injured, begging for help. WKYT is gathering details about a stabbing that sent a woman to the hospital.

Around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, a woman living on Dale Drive got a startling knock on her door from a scared neighbor.

"Her face was swollen. She was bruised up. She had a cut from her cheek to her neck, a slice on her upper lip. She had four or five stab wounds on her back, and cuts in her hair. Blood was dried up in her hair," described neighbor Shannon Watts.

Watts says a woman that lives right across the street from her, Susan Kemplin, told Watts people she thought were friends assaulted and stabbed her.

"She just said that they had held her hostage for most of the day. They let her go because she promised that she wouldn't say anything and that they stole her medication and her money."

Winchester police tell us they found the woman blamed for the stabbing, Nancy Spencer, and brought her in for questioning. The Clark County Jail says Spencer is now there, charged with robbery, assault, and unlawful imprisonment.

"She thought she was a friend of hers, and she had been coming to see her off and on throughout this week," said Watts.
