Despite less travel, 2020 was deadly year for Kentucky roads

According to the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety, as of December 30, there were 776 deadly crashes. That’s 44 more than in 2019.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - 2020 was a deadly year for Kentucky roads, despite less travel.

The pandemic forced more people to stay home last year and cut down on travel.

According to the Kentucky Office of Highway Safety, as of December 30, there were 776 deadly crashes. That’s 44 more than in 2019.

The Lexington area had 115 deadly crashes with cars and motorcycles last year.
