KSP says 23-year-old Connor Shaw, of Cincinnati, slowed his car to an almost complete stop in the southbound lane of I-75 after becoming distracted.

The say Shaw slowing down caused the tractor-trailer driven by 50-year-old Marcus Lawrence, of Harriman, Tennessee, to strike Shaw’s car, causing Lawrence’s vehicle to overturn.

Lawrence’s semi came to rest across all three lanes of the roadway.

Crews worked for hours to clean up a large amount of coke, a fuel derived from coal, that spilled from Lawrence’s semi.
