Baalman and Stoddard combine for 19th no-hitter in UK history
The Wildcats beat Stetson 15-0 Sunday to improve to 14-0.
CLERMONT, Fla. (WKYT) - Grace Baalman and Miranda Stoddard combined for the 19th no-hitter in Kentucky softball history and the No. 12 Wildcats blanked Stetson 15-0 in five innings Sunday to improve to 14-0.
The no-hitter was the first for Kentucky since 2018.
Offensively, Kentucky got 15 runs on 14 hits against the Hatters, including seven runs in the bottom of the first inning. Kentucky added another five runs in the bottom of the third and freshman Erin Coffel blasted her eighth home run of the year.
Kentucky’s 14-0 start is the best in program history.
Up next, the Wildcats head to Boca Raton, Florida for the FAU Parents’ Weekend Tournament. Kentucky will play six games in four days, including two games against Florida Atlantic and Coastal Carolina. UK will also face Illinois State and Pittsburgh.
