Struggles continue for many Kentucky employers trying to hire workers
RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT) - When it comes to hiring, businesses have seen brighter days.
However, they wouldn’t let the rain stop them from trying to bring in new employees. Resource MFG is hosting a series of job fairs across the state this week in cities like Richmond, Frankfort, Lexington, and Somerset.
They’re hoping to fill hundreds of jobs, mostly in the manufacturing industry.
They say businesses have ramped up pay and they’re offering bonuses just to bring people in.
Resource MFG says, now that Kentucky is reopening and unemployment benefits will end in the fall, people need to get back to work. They point out how important every job is when it comes to getting back to normal.
“Kind of like a pipeline in America when it comes to transportation and manufacturing that ends up, the parts are going to our cars for us to go everywhere,” said Heather Doty, Resource MFG Richmond. “We need people to get back to work so that we can all just grow and benefit from the workforce that’s going on.”
If you can’t make it out to any of the job fairs this week, Resource MFG says you can contact them to work with a recruiter.
Resource MFG will have its biggest hiring event Thursday at Yokohama from 5 to 8. The carnival will have a DJ, popcorn, and cotton candy.
