LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - At one time UK freshman forward Bryce Hopkins committed to Louisville but had a change of heart and will wear Wildcat Blue and White.

The 6′7 power forward from Oak Park, Illinois is getting plenty of tutelage from the likes of Keion Brooks and Lance Ware. Hopkins and Ware have become rather tight during the camps and Ware has taken the freshman under his wing, so to speak. Ware even began playfully grilling Hopkins with questions at the UK satellite camp at South Oldham High School.

When asked which UK player has helped him the most, Hopkins didn’t hesitate.

“I would say probably Lance Ware,” said Hopkins. “He’s taken me in the most. That’s like my big brother here, so far. He’s just a very cool guy to be around. He’s just been showing me around and stuff like that, make me feel welcome and make me feel comfortable around here. So, some of the stuff like that, little things like that.”

Then Ware grabbed a microphone and asked his own questions of Hopkins.

“I have one question,” said Ware. “How does it feel being your first official college interview? Give me some comments and feedback about it.”

Hopkins joined in on the fun with a quick answer. “It’s a little nerve-racking. A lot of cameras but I’ll get used to here.”

Ware exited the interview with some encouragement. “Good, good, good. Good job today buddy!”

Hopkins was jokingly thankful. “I appreciate it my guy.”
