FRANKFORT, Ky. (WKYT) - Governor Andy Beshear held another Team Kentucky Update on Thursday.

The winter weather rolling across the state and the omicron COVID-19 variant were among the topics Gov. Beshear addressed during the briefing.

The governor says saying roads are already slick across much of the state. He asks if you don’t have to drive, don’t.

Beshears says if you do have to get out, make sure to give snowplows plenty of room to work, make sure your vehicle is winter-ready and keep an emergency kit in your car.

Later in the day, Gov. Beshear also announced he was deploying the National Guard to help state police and road workers.

Due to the inclement weather, Governor Beshear closed all state office buildings as of noon.
