Kentucky Newsmakers 4/10: Keeneland President Shannon Arvin
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - On the latest episode of Kentucky Newsmakers, WKYT’s Bill Bryant talks with Keeneland President Shannon Arvin.
This is the first weekend of Spring Meet at Keeneland, and even the weather can’t dampen the enthusiasm for horseracing in the bluegrass.
Keeneland also has new ventures underway in southern Kentucky with a harness track in Corbin and a historic horseracing facility in Williamsburg to be called Cumberland Run.
Keeneland is also rolled out some details about the Breeders’ Cup coming back to the area this fall. Joining us is Shannon Bishop Arvin, Keeneland’s eighth president and the first woman to ever serve in that position.
We’ll also have some highlights from this week’s Concordia Summit in Lexington, where voices from across the political spectrum and business sectors gathered to consider how to cooperate and tackle challenges in the world, from economic empowerment to environmental sustainability.
