Grayson County school bus driver reassigned amid KSP investigation involving children

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB+WAVE) — A Grayson County Schools bus driver was suspended amid an investigation into possible crimes involving children.

Grayson County Schools bus driver Josh Rudnick told WDRB+WAVE that the allegations “are completely false.”

According to Rudnick’s personnel file, he has been a bus driver for the district since 2019.

A letter from Superintendent Doug Robinson dated Aug. 26 states Kentucky State Police notified the transportation director that Rudnick was being investigated for possible crimes involving children.

The letter states, “... there is no indication that improper activities occurred on school property.”

He was suspended for 10 days with pay. No details about the possible crimes were released.

A Sept. 10 letter stated Rudnick’s suspension was extended for five days. According to his personnel file, it was extended again Sept. 16.

A May letter from the Cabinet for Health and Family Services states it received a report of suspected child abuse or neglect and that the allegations were found to be “unsubstantiated.”

No other information was released.

Robinson said Rudnick also applied for and was granted an emergency substitute teaching certificate by the commonwealth of Kentucky in July, but he has not been hired as a substitute teacher for the district.

The letter states Rudnick was initially suspended but was reassigned pending the police investigation.

KSP has not responded to a request for comment.

“The district was made aware of a KSP investigation into an employee involving matters unrelated to their employment with Grayson County Schools. The individual was initially suspended and has since been reassigned pending conclusion of the investigation. As both a personnel matter and an ongoing investigation, we are unable to comment further. Additional questions regarding the investigation should be directed to KSP.”
