2019 It's Cool To Be A Vet: Honoring Our Local Veterans

Sponsored - Only a few days remain to submit a nomination for Fayette Heating & Air’s, “It’s Cool To Be A Vet.”

For the past 12 years, the company has asked the community to submit nominations for families or individuals who are in need of heat through its annual “Gift of Heat.” Now with, “It’s Cool To Be A Vet,” Fayette Heating & Air is looking to serve an entirely different community group.

“We started this program as a way to help the service members in our community,” said owner Bret Melrose. “As a company, and as an individual, we have a deep respect and gratitude for the members of our military. ‘It’s Cool To Be A Vet’ is our way of honoring them and giving back to the men and women who have already given so much.”

For “It’s Cool To Be A Vet,” Fayette Heating & Air will take nominations from the community to find local veterans and military members in need of a helping hand. The company will then choose one winner to receive a complete cooling system for their home.

Nominations for “It’s Cool To Be A Vet” are being accepted until Wednesday, June 26, at noon. To qualify, all nominees must: own their own home, have pre-existing ductwork, be an honorably discharged U.S. military veteran or a current member of the U.S. military, and be able to show proof of this service by submitting a copy of their DD214 Form or current Military ID Card. Nominations may be submitted online at www.coolasavet.com or mailed to Fayette Heating & Air, Attention: It’s Cool To Be A Vet, 817 Nandino Blvd, Lexington, KY 40511.

All finalists will be selected the following day, Thursday, June 27. The winner will be announced on Friday, June 28, at Fayette Heating & Air. The winner’s cooling system will be installed the week after the Fourth of July.
