This winter give the gift of heat

Sponsored - This is the last week to submit a nomination for Fayette Heating & Air’s Annual Gift of Heat.

For the past 11 years, the business has asked the community to submit nominations for families or individuals who are in need of heat for the winter. Then just in time for Christmas, the business provides a new HVAC system to the winning individual or family.

In 2015, Bobbie Mobley was concerned when her heat suddenly went out. As a working mother of a disabled child, the lack of heat created an extra strain on the family. Mobley was then nominated for the Gift of Heat and became the 2015 Recipient.

“The Gift of Heat has made such a tremendous difference,” Mobley said. “Every time my furnace cuts on… it’s just incredible.”

Alva Clark, the 2016 Gift of Heat Recipient, felt similarly last December. “I was just totally worried and concerned about how we were going to get through the winter,” said Clark. Now with her new HVAC system, Clark is encouraging everyone to submit a nomination. “I just really think it’s important to nominate people. There are a lot of people who need help.”

Nominations for the Gift of Heat are being accepted until Wednesday, December 13 at noon. All nominations must be submitted by a friend, family member, co-worker, or group and may be submitted online at or mailed to Fayette Heating & Air, Attention: Gift of Heat, 817 Nandino Blvd, Lexington, KY 40511.

All finalists will be selected the following day, December 14 and the winner will be announced on Monday, December 18 at Fayette Heating & Air. The winner’s HVAC system will be installed the week before Christmas.
