Female-Led Cancer Research Making a Difference in Kentucky

Sponsored - From Thoroughbreds, to bourbon, to college basketball, Kentucky is a leader in many things. It is also the leader in overall cancer incidence and mortality rates throughout the United States. Through funding from the UK Markey Cancer Foundation, the Markey Cancer Center is working hard to turn this devastating statistic around.

One initiative that plays a crucial role in groundbreaking research to support this goal is Markey Women Strong - a group of dedicated donors annually investing in women researchers focused on furthering leading-edge cancer prevention and treatments at Markey.

Grants given by Markey Women Strong are uniquely supported by a group of donors who each give $1,000 annually to this fund. These dedicated friends of Markey participate in the yearly review and selection of grant recipients and receive progress reports from the researchers throughout the year.

Consider being a part of this life-saving research by becoming a Markey Women Strong member for 2020, and continue to make the UK Markey Cancer Center the place where Kentucky comes to beat cancer.
