The Kentucky State Fair runs Aug. 15-25 at the Kentucky Exposition Center. It’s the Commonwealth’s largest summertime attraction – and America’s largest indoor fair. The unique, family-friendly 11-day festival that celebrates local and statewide heritage with blue ribbon competition, concerts, special exhibits and carnival rides. It is a showcase for Kentucky’s finest products, companies, entertainment, and, most importantly, people.

World’s Championship Horse Show

The World’s Championship Horse Show (WCHS), the most prestigious Saddlebred show in the world, returns to Freedom Hall Aug. 17-24. The event is held in conjunction with the Kentucky State Fair.

Top Saddlebred horses from around the world take center stage during the show, with harness and hackney ponies, roadster ponies and horses competing in the show ring as well. Divisions include Three and Five-Gaited, Fine Harness, Saddlebred Pleasure, Equitation, Hackney/Harness Pony, Roadster, In-Hand Division and American Saddlebred.

Interesting Facts:

  • In 2017 the largest pumpkin broke a Kentucky State Fair record, with a pumpkin weighing a whopping 1,223 pounds.

  • Freddy Farm Bureau has been greeting guests on the front porch of Freedom Hall for more than 50 years.

  • 5,000+ blue ribbons are awarded each year.

  • More than 40,000 entries compete in the Fair each year.

  • Tickets are bought in all 120 counties in Kentucky.
