Police apprehend fourth suspect in Mt. Sterling kidnapping, assault case

MT. STERLING, Ky. (WKYT) - Mt. Sterling police have apprehended the last suspect in a group of four they say kidnapped and assaulted another man.

Sabrina Zornes, 33, of Olive Hill is now in law enforcement custody, according to the Mt. Sterling Police Department.

Police say they received a call about three people assaulting a man at an apartment complex in Mt. Sterling. Witnesses told authorities the suspects had forced the victim in a vehicle before leaving the scene.

Authorities found the vehicle on Interstate 64 and performed a traffic stop. The officer found four people inside the car. The victim was suffering severe bleeding from his head and was screaming for help. He was taken to the hospital.

The officer says the other three had blood on them, and it came from the victim's injuries. Investigators also believe a knife was used in the assault.

Witnesses say the victim tried to climb out of the window trying to escape.

Brandon Lambert of Morehead, Lonnie Bailey of Olive Hill and Samuel Pennington of Olive Hill were all charged with assault and kidnapping.
