LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The best sound of the day for 10-year-old Levi Delimpo was when he rung a bell, signifying he is finished with his cancer treatment.
The Scott County child underwent 47 chemotherapy treatments and five rounds of radiation before doctors couldn't detect his bone cancer.
"It felt really good to know that I'm done with treatment," Delimpo said. "Whenever I was first diagnosed, me and my mom were up here, and we heard someone else ringing their bell, and I thought that will be me someday."
That day was Friday as a group surrounded him to give him a round of applause.
Delimpo received a lot of support as he battled cancer, so he decided to give back. He raised $3,000 from selling paintings he created while sick. The money will go to others at the UK Markey Cancer Center.
