NEW YORK (WKYT) - The top dog at the Westminster Dog Show has been named. A Bichon Frise named Flynn took the top prize Tuesday night.
He beat out nearly 3,000 dogs from more than 200 different breeds.
Flynn also won the non-sporting group title.
He is the first Bichon to be named Best in Show since 2001.
Flynn and his owner don't get any prize money. The reward is bragging and breeding rights, plus a trophy.
The winning dog also gets a steak dinner from Sardi's in New York City.
The first year of the dog show was in 1877. It is the second longest continuously running sporting event, second only to the Kentucky Derby.
