All lanes of I-64 re-opened after semi catches fire
Emergency crews in Woodford County say a portion of Interstate 64 had to be temporarily shutdown after a semi caught fire.
Police say the incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday near mile marker 61.
Firefighters say the fire started in the cab of the semi and quickly spread throughout the truck. Luckily, the driver said no cargo was lost because the trailer was empty.
Police were temporarily forced to close all eastbound lanes of I-64 between the Midway and Frankfort exits, so crews could clean the scene. Traffic remained backed up for roughly two hours, but the portion of roadway has since re-opened.
Police say nobody was injured in the accident.
