LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) – Police say a man was “manifestly intoxicated” when he jumped on a horse and rode it to the track entrance at Churchill Downs during the Breeders’ Cup.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that Michael Wells-Rody entered a restricted area at Churchill Downs, mounted a horse, and then rode it into the track entrance.

When officers got to Wells-Rody, they reportedly asked him to leave, at which time they say Wells-Rody resisted.

He was arrested and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct, before being taken to the Jefferson County Detention Center.
