Troopers identify Williamsburg driver killed in Corbin Bypass wreck

CORBIN, Ky. (WKYT) - One person is dead after two commercial vehicles collided on the Corbin Bypass Wednesday morning.

Corbin police say the crash occurred between Falls Road and 23rd Street. All lanes of the bypass in that area were closed for hours as a result of the collision.

Kentucky State Police say a commercial driver was traveling eastbound when another commercial vehicle driven by 40-year-old Mitchell Shelton of Williamsburg struck the other vehicle.

Shelton was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was wearing a seat belt and was transported to UK Hospital.

Kentucky State Police are still investigating the crash.
