For more than a week people in Estill County have had to deal with a lot of loss.

"We were born and raised in this community and it's a small community so it's kind of everybody knows everybody and if something like this were to happen to me I'd hope they'd come together," Kenton Roberts told WKYT.

After hundreds of homes were damaged and dozens destroyed, the people here are hoping a day of music will get them back on track.

"We are throwing a storm benefit concert there were over 20 people left homeless," Lee Amber Roberts said.

Concert goers say they were happy to come support, Saturday. BJ Mcgee's aunt lost her home in the storm and she says it's been tough on the whole family.

"I just want to be here today to support everybody else that has went through hard times," she said.

Organizers say all of the proceeds from the concert will go to the people who lost their homes in the storm.

"Tragedy strikes everywhere but not at all places do people come together like this and help each other out," Roberts said.
