Amid speculation that he will be announcing a run for governor, Attorney General Andy Beshear has scheduled a series of press conferences Monday and Tuesday concerning the "future of Kentucky."

The first announcement will take place at 9 a.m. at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage in Louisville.

Beshear will then travel to Lexington where he will be at Dudley's on Short at 11:15 a.m., before making stops in Pikeville, Ashland, Owensboro, Paducah and Bowling Green.

Beshear would be the first Democrat to announce a bid to run for Kentucky's governor in what is expected to be crowded field against incumbent Matt Bevin.

Beshear's father, Steve Beshear, served as governor from 2007 to 2015. Andy Beshear has been the state's Attorney General since 2016,
