A death investigation is underway in Taylor County after investigators discovered two bodies in a burned vehicle.
The sheriff's office got a report of a vehicle fire on Palestine Road off US 68 on Monday morning. Investigators found two people dead. The Taylor County Sheriff's Office has since identified one of those men as Gerald Raisor, Jr. of Campbellsville. He was 20-years old.
A man who runs a business in the area says on Monday, two men pulled over on his property because they thought something might have been wrong with the muffler on their car. The owner walked off, but minutes later, says the car the men were in burst into flames. He rushed over and tried to rescue the people. He was able to get them out of the car but said by then, it was too late.
Investigators sent both bodies to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville for an autopsy on Tuesday. Police are still waiting on the identity of the other victim.
