MADISON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Officials have confirmed that the body found in a car in Madison County is that of a missing Richmond man.
Madison County Deputy Coroner Carlos Coyle confirmed on Monday that 78-year-old Fred Warner was the man found in the car over the weekend. Coyle says a cause of death has not yet been determined.
Kentucky State Police troopers were originally called to a scene off Duck Branch Road around 3:30 p.m. Saturday after someone called claiming to have seen a car in a nearby creek. Police said the vehicle matches the description of the car owned by Warner.
Warner's family reported him missing back in December after he left his home without his cell phone. Warner was previously diagnosed with dementia.
