The Martin County Sheriff says a young boy has died after falling into a river.
It happened Monday in the Warfield community in Martin County, Kentucky.
Mullins Family Funeral Home posted on Facebook Monday night, identifying the boy as seven-year-old Paul Bowen of Hode, Ky. The funeral home says funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.
Sheriff John Kirk says a couple driving on the West Virginia side of Tug Fork River saw the child's body floating down the river.
Sheriff Kirk says the body was found about two hours after the child fell in.
The Kermit Fire Department assisted in the search.
Fire crews said they got the call around 11:30 a.m.
Kermit Fire says a hat was found at the scene believed to be where the child fell in.
When the body was found, two firefighters tried to revive the child, but it was too late.
