MCCREARY COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - McCreary County coroner Tim Corder says an investigation is underway after a body was pulled from a river.
Around 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, a fisherman found a car in the Big South Fork River in the Wiborg area of McCreary County.
When investigators pulled the car out of the water, they discovered a body inside.
The coroner took the body to the State Medical Examiner in Frankfort where an autopsy is being done on Thursday.
Corder says he is not sure yet if it is man or woman because the body was so badly decomposed. He believes the body has been in the water for five to six months.
Corder thinks the body could belong to a man who has been missing for months
