A release from the Fayette County Coroner's Office indicates Josephine Bulubenchi, 3, died at Kentucky Children's Hospital Sunday evening.
Jail officials tells WKYT 33-year-old Emanuel Fluter was arrested following the incident.
His arrest citation says he cut his niece's throat. The child's father heard the attack on the baby monitor, went into the room and was cut by Fluter before he found his daughter.
Four other children were in the room at the time of the attack.
She was rushed to a local hospital, then flown to Kentucky Children's where she died.
