LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - What another beautiful day across central and eastern Kentucky for your Sunday. Despite temperatures being a little warmer than yesterday, the humidity was still held in check and made for another pleasant day. Unfortunately, these pleasant conditions aren't sticking around for much longer.
Tonight, mostly clear skies take over as calm and pleasant conditions win out. Look for lows to dip into the mid-upper 60's.
The new work week kicks off on a fairly nice note. The bigger weather story Monday will be the warmer and muggier conditions that return. Highs reach the mid-upper 80's as the humidity also rises. While this isn't oppressive like we had last week, you'll certainly notice the sticky feel as you head throughout tomorrow. Outside of the warmer weather, there is a chance for a few storms Monday afternoon, but better chances are set to arrive Tuesday.
A cold front slides through the Commonwealth later in the day Tuesday while ramping up scattered showers and storms. Some stronger storms are a possibility bringing the threat for heavy rain and gusty winds. Otherwise, look for highs to hit the mid-upper 80's.
The cold front finally slides through by Wednesday morning while leaving behind another shot of comfy air. Similar to the last shot of cooler air, it's brief. But enjoy it while you can as highs hit the low-mid 80's with lower humidity. No complaints about that!
The heat builds once again late week and into the weekend as storm chances return. It looks like another system could impact the region late next weekend while keeping rain chances around into early next week.
