Chris Johnson's Forecast | Nice weekend continues before changes arrive Monday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Talk about a beautiful start to the weekend! Lots of sunshine and blue skies to go around with seasonable temperatures for this time of the year. Highs in the many spots topped out in the upper 40's and low 50's.

Tonight, mostly clear skies stick around as high pressure dominates the region's weather. Otherwise, look for a calm and cold one as lows dip into the mid-upper 20's.

If you were in love with Saturday's weather, you'll enjoy what's ahead Sunday. Mostly sunny skies win out as temperatures climb into the mid 50's for many spots. Hard to beat that for early March! Enjoy!

Clouds roll into town as our next system takes aim at the Commonwealth Monday. A strong low pressure system will really wrap up within itself while providing for more rain chances Monday and Tuesday. As this low slowly works through the region, it will drag in much colder air along with some snow chances by mid-week. As of now, it looks possible for flakes to fly as temperatures really cool off.

Highs Monday and Tuesday hang tough in the 50's. Not too bad. By mid-week, highs tumble into the 30's with overnight lows dropping deep into the 20's. Thermometers in the 40's continue both Thursday and Friday as the winter feel sticks around.
