LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - What a beautiful start to the weekend it has been! Much lower humidity along with highs in the low-mid 80's has made for a wonderful feeling Saturday. A small chance for a pop-up shower or storm will be possible for far southern Kentucky, but most should stay dry. Otherwise, clear skies take over tonight with lows in the upper 50's and low 60's.
Sunday will feature more of the same. A cool-ish start to the day leads to a pretty nice afternoon. Thermometers will be a touch warmer as highs climb into the mid 80's with a little more humidity, but nothing oppressive. A small chance for a few showers and storms look possible, but best chances are across southern and western Kentucky.
Storm chances are set to increase as we kick off the new work week. Temperatures steadily climb into the upper 80's by mid-week as moisture increases and a cold front dives into town. Isolated boomers become possible Monday with better storm chances arriving Tuesday. Storm chances linger Wednesday before conditions dry out. Look for a brief break late week from storms but not the heat. In fact, highs flirt with 90 Thursday and Friday with more storm chances returning Friday and into the weekend.
