RICHMOND, Ky. (WKYT)- With a lot of firework shows across the Bluegrass comes a lot of preparations for the explosive holiday.
The city of Richmond is getting ready for their firework show at Lake Reba Park Tuesday night. Erin Moore with Richmond Parks says she wants people to feel the sense of community that is represented on July fourth.
“A lot of people that come out to Lake Reba Park and we hope the citizens feel a sense of community and are patriotic in their celebration for the birthday of our country, but also the birthday of Richmond."
The fireworks at Lake Reba will start 10 p.m. but activities will begin at five with mini golf, food vendors, craft vendors and inflatables. There is also a $5 dollar fee to park.
Lexington is also getting ready for the large crowds.
Organizers say the fireworks show at the Arboretum will last 18 minutes and include a lot of “big booms.”
If you're planning to come out and watch the firework show at the arboretum, it starts around 10PM Tuesday in Lexington with parking by Kroger Field.
