LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington police say a clerk was shot during a robbery at a Marathon on Lansdowne Drive. The robbery happened around 8:20 Saturday night.

Police said Charles Moore, 49, was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in serious condition. On Sunday morning police said the Moore's condition was critical.

On Sunday police also confirmed they do now believe the robbery is related to a robbery at the Shell at Lexington Green that happened less than an hour before. In the incident at the Lansdowne Marathon, police say the robbers didn't get away with anything.

People who live near the Marathon station say they heard a few shots, and saw the suspects run out of the business. Witnesses say two men got into a white passenger car that sped off. The witnesses were not able to give police a good description of the men.

Police are searching for three men; two who entered the store, and a getaway driver.
