ROCKCASTLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Friday, SourceHOV, which operates in Rockcastle County, announced it would be expanding its workforce.
The company plans to add 600 jobs at its Mount Vernon location, bringing the total number of employees to 900.
Congressman Hal Rogers was one of several state leaders at SourceHOV for the announcement.
"In this day and time when we're seeing nothing but layoffs around Eastern Kentucky this is a breath of extremely fresh air," said Congressman Rogers. "We're going to have the high tech type of jobs that's already taking place in places like Owsley County, and now Mount Vernon, Rockcastle County. And I think this speaks to the idea that we can attract these jobs if we go after them."
The company expects applications to come in from Rockcastle and surrounding counties. The Vice President for the Public Sector of SourceHOV says these openings will impact families across Southeastern Kentucky.
"These are mainly clerical and data entry jobs that have to do with data processing for our federal and other public sector clients," said Arjun Reddy with Source HOV.
Applications are being accepted for the new positions.
SourceHOV has been in Mount Vernon since 1992.
