Company adding jobs with $10 million Lexington facility
A Lexington employer is adding dozens of jobs as leaders broke ground on a $10 million facility.
LBX held a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of its new facility in the Citation Business Park on Remington Way. The company makes items including hydraulic excavators, scrap handlers and demolition equipment.
The company acquired 25 acres to build a customer experience and training center. The project has been in the works for 12 months, and construction is expected to begin in 30 days.
Lexington has been home to LBX since 1998, and company leaders believe this expansion will make the company an even more prominent part of Kentucky's second-largest city.
"I believe it's going to bring more visibility to Lexington and our community, and that's also the other side of the story so we are proud of it," CEO Eric Sauvage said.
The project is expected to complete in early 2019, and the company plans to hire new workers as a result of the new facility.
