The Montgomery County Coroner confirms to WKYT a Mount Sterling firefighter has died.

The coroner released the name of the victim as Dewon Wells, 52, of Mount Sterling.

A procession was held along Interstate 64 on Saturday night as Wells body was being taken to Frankfort for an autopsy.

The coroner says Wells died Saturday afternoon at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Mount Sterling.
