Lincoln County authorities are responding to the scene of a deadly wreck involving an Amish buggy.

Authorities say the collision occurred on Ky. 39 near Crab Orchard.

An Amish man died as a result of the collision. Authorities have identified him at Bruce Troyer, 52, of Crab Orchard. They say he was ejected from the carriage and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the driver that hit the Amish buggy, 64-year-old Mary Carter of Crab Orchard, is charged with DUI. She was booked in the Lincoln County Regional Jail Wednesday afternoon.

Sheriff Curt Folger says this is the only the second time he remembers a collision involving an Amish buggy on Ky. 39.

People who knew the man said he lived less than a mile from where the crash happened. His neighbor knew something was wrong when the horse was walking up the road without a buggy attached.

Kentucky State Police are conducting an accident reconstruction before. It is unknown if Carter will face additional charges. She was taken to a local hospital for a toxicology test before being booked in jail.
