Berea firefighters worked overnight to put out the flames at a building being used as a storage facility.
The fire started at the building on Walnut Meadow Road after 2 a.m. Friday morning. Crews remained at the scene during the day putting out hotspots.
Firefighters say when they arrived on scene they saw smoke rising from the building. No one was hurt in the fire.
“It’s a two-story building," Battalion Chief Scott Adams said. "One half of it was used as apartments, but as of right now it was unoccupied.”
Firefighters say the other half of the building used to be a car shop called Marcum Autos, but the person who owns the building has since been using it as a storage facility.
The fire remains under investigation. Berea police are directing traffic in the area.
