Crews battle overnight apartment fire in Lexington

A Lexington apartment complex is damaged after an overnight fire. The fire at the One Hundred Chevy Chase complex on Lakeshore Drive started around 3:30 Saturday morning.

Officials say people in four apartments are displaced, but the extent of the damage is unclear.

Firefighters tackled heavy smoke and fire from a top story apartment when they first arrived. They say smoke detectors were working and helped get people out safely.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but no related injuries have been reported.

Ore firefighter was taken to the hospital during the incident for unrelated chest pains, but is expected to be OK.
