MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (WKYT) - Crews let a fire at a Montgomery County business burn itself out Thursday morning.

The fire destroyed Caudill Truss and Metal Co. on Van Thompson Road, north of Mt. Sterling.

It started around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. Flames as tall as trees could be seen from far away.

Neighbors told WKYT they heard several explosions. Fire officials say those explosions were caused by propane tanks around this business.

Firefighters said the fire was so hot, concrete was starting to cave in.

An arson investigator with Kentucky State Police is expected to look into the cause of the fire Thursday.
