NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - Several crews were on the scene of a large fire in Jessamine County.
The scene was on Crosswoods Place, off Harrodsburg Road, not far from Southland Christian Church.
The Jessamine County fire chief says the homeowner had the fireplace burning when the fire started. The flames spread upstairs.
Jessamine Co. Fire Chief Michael Rupard said, "The homeowner said he was in the basement and come upstairs and seen the fire and tried to put it out with several buckets of water and knew that it was beyond what he could take care of."
The majority of the damage is to the upper level of the home.
A mother, father, and daughter made it out of the home safely.
