BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT)- Officials say one person is dead, and another sent to the hospital after a crash in Boyle County.

They said it happened Wednesday around 7 p.m. on Perryville Road, off of the Danville Bypass, not far from Boyle County High School.

Boyle County's Emergency Management Director said an SUV driven by Joseph Kelly of Lexington crossed the center line and hit a pickup head-on.

The woman driving the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Relatives have since identified her as 63-year-old Linda K. Gill.

Emergency crews transported Kelly to the hospital.

Gill lived on a farm with her family in Garrard County. Relatives say she and a friend were returning from a trip to the Peddlers Mall in Danville when the crash happened.

"She loved the booths over there. Fooling with, well, what I call junk. She had been through a lot of surgeries and stuff."

Marvin Gill says he and Linda had been together 44 years and recently adopted two young boys. Gill also leaves behind a large family.

The accident is under investigation and charges are pending because police believe alcohol may be a factor. Danville Police are asking for witnesses to come forward with more information about the crash.
