Buds Gun Shop to remain closed through weekend after death at business

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington police and the Fayette County Coroner's Office are at the scene of Buds Gun Shop Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the store on Industry Road before 4 p.m. Friday. The coroner's vehicle arrived minutes later.

Police at the scene and the company are not suspecting foul play.

Buds Gun Shop released a statement following the death.

"On behalf of our entire company, I wish to express how deeply saddened we are and offer our sincere condolences to the person’s family," Director of Outreach, Education, and Training Doug Ramsey said. "In light of what has occurred, we are in the process of requesting counselors to help assess emotional needs of our employees and customers."

The person who died was not identified.

Buds Gun Shop will remain closed through the weekend.

The store sells firearms, ammunition and accessories. It also has an indoor shooting range. The death occurred at the shooting range.
