LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) – A 19-year-old has been charged with DUI and drug trafficking following a traffic stop on KY 490 on Friday.
The Laurel Co. Sheriff says a deputy stopped a Chevrolet Camaro just before 9:00 p.m. after seeing the driver weave across the center line.
During the stop, the deputy reportedly smelled marijuana coming from the car. The driver, Preston Walters, of East Bernstadt was determined to be under the influence.
According to the Sheriff, Walters admitted to smoking marijuana, and said there was a possibility he had meth in his system. The deputy also found three glass pipes, a grinder, three scales, and marijuana on Walters.
Walters was charged with DUI, trafficking in marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was taken to the Laurel County Detention Center.
