Family of murdered Letcher County man asks for help
Kentucky State Police officials say a murder investigation is underway in the death of a Letcher County man.
Michael Lowe, 50, was found stabbed to death inside his apartment on Mountain Breeze Road in Jenkins Oct. 4.
At the time, Kentucky State Police officials were not sure what happened. However, after autopsy results were released, police are now handling the case as a murder investigation.
"I still don't want to say the word," Lowe's sister-in-law Christine said. "I can't say the word. Mike was too kind."
Lowe was described as a man with a big heart. His family says he had no enemies.
"A lot of people say, yeah I know good people but this was literally a good person," his brother Floyd said.
For his family, it is hard to imagine why someone would kill their loved one.
"The 'who' might not surprise me, but the 'why' probably would because of the person he is," Floyd Lowe said. "It's just hard to wrap your hands around."
Police have no leads at this time. The family says it is hard to believe no one knows anything about the stabbing. They are begging anyone with information to come forward.
"I believe in my heart-of-hearts, I believe there is somebody that is out there that has seen something. Even if they don't know who it was ... that they heard something possibly. Anything," Christine Lowe said.
